The APEC Business Ethics Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises (APEC Business Ethics for SMEs Forum) was held in Santiago de Chile, Chile between September 9th and 10th 2019. Representatives of different organizations and associations of the sector met to discuss the importance of ethics and transparency in business activities.
Rafael Andrés Díaz-Granados, FIFARMA Executive Director, participated in the panel “Establishing Tone at the Top: Insights from SME Leader and Associations” together with other members of the sector, where he reiterated FIFARMA’s commitment to maintain the highest standards of ethics and transparency in the region.
In addition to its Executive Director, FIFARMA had the participation of the following members: Angela Flores (Director of ALAFARPE), Cristobal Thompson (Director of AMIIF), Victoria Brenes (Director of FEDEFARMA), Marta Diez (Chairman of the Board of Directors of CIF and Pfizer Manager in Chile), Juan Carlos Trujillo, Director of International Operations of FIFARMA and Teresa Cantu, Legal Advisor of FIFARMA.
Within the framework of this forum, Chile signed the “consensus framework” that establishes a platform and guide to promote the development of ethical frameworks in business activities, as previously done in Peru and Mexico. This constitutes a significant step in the construction of standards of transparency and trust in the pharmaceutical sector, seeking to prioritize the well-being of Latin American patients.
