FIFARMA held its annual meeting between May 28 and 30, 2019 in Miami, when Rafael Díaz-Granados was welcomed as the new Executive Director for FIFARMA.
Members had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by health systems in the region. The Co-Chairs of the working groups presented various initiatives and projects for 2019, which generated a valuable discussion about the role of industry in supporting countries in the creation of health policies that improve access and life for patients Likewise, the meeting allowed the directors of the local associations to present their projects and priorities for the current year, with a unanimous approach in helping the development of health systems in each country.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee was convened to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the region and select the members of the Board of Directors to guide the association for the next year, welcoming César Rodríguez as Chair of FIFARMA 2019-2020 , International Vice President of Janssen Latin America; to Om Arora, Regional President of Latin America of the Pfizer company as new Co-Chair by the companies; and Angela Flores, Executive Director of ALAFARPE Peru, as Co-Chair on behalf of the local associations.
Underscoring the progress made by the communications function, the new FIFARMA website was launched, showcasing an improvement in the design and new content that helps provide greater visibility of the efforts from the FIFARMA’s working groups.
